Abstract

The authors studied cytological picture and tumor growth fraction in reaction with monoclonal antibody Ki-67 in chronic lymphoproliferative diseases and their malignant transformation. Blood and bone marrow films, imprints and puncture samples of the lymph nodes and spleens were examined in 85 cases of chronic lymphoproliferative diseases: chronic lymphoid leukemia (n = 41), lymphocytoma of the spleen (n = 11), follicular lymphoma (n = 15), mantle cell lymphoma (n = 18). The comparison was made with 33 cases of lymphosarcoma, 3 cases of reactive hyperplasia of lymph nodes and 2 of the spleen. The analysis of the obtained cytological picture and proliferative activity of the tumor allowed follow-up of the tumor progression and assessment of the disease course severity. This is important for choice of adequate treatment policy for patients with chronic lymphoproliferative diseases.
