Abstract
The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Radiation Therapy Committee (RTC) Task Group (TG) 61 has been working on a task report on kilovoltage (40 kV ≤ tube potential ≤ 300 kV) x-ray beam dosimetry for radiotherapy and radiobiology. In this presentation, we will review the dosimetry and dosimetry protocols for kilovoltage x-ray beams, the physics background of the formalisms used in the TG-61 report, and the clinical aspects of kilovoltage x-ray dosimetry and the TG-61 recommendations.
