Treatment Focus

Patients seeking care at Fox Chase Cancer Center undergo comprehensive treatment for the malignancies and other medical disorders which can often put them at risk for cancer related endocrinopathies. Patients then may have to seek clinical care outside Fox Chase for managing these endocrinopathies. As an endocrinologist with avid interest in calcium, bone and mineral metabolism, osteoporosis, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, my goal is to provide state of the art comprehensive patient centered clinical care at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Having my fellowship completed at Temple University Health System, I am comfortable managing both common and complex endocrine disorders that require an  individualized but evidence based approach to every patient. Incidental tumors are often found  in thyroid, adrenal and pituitary gland found with radiological imaging performed for cancer evaluation.  I provide patients with comprehensive approach to the evaluation of these incidental (often benign) tumors and meticulous follow-up.

I have a special interest in calcium and parathyroid disorders and being a part of FCCC which has state of the art Head and Neck institute, I feel privileged to provide multidisciplinary service both in pre-operative and post-operative setting including long-term follow-up. I had extensive exposure to thyroid Ultrasound and Fine needle aspiration of thyroid and parathyroid nodules during my fellowship training, including familiarity with current molecular and genetic we use to avoid  unnecessary thyroid surgeries and better inform  patients with thyroid nodules.

We, as a team in the section on endocrinology, firmly believe in an individualized patient centered approach. We have a unique multidisplinary team and excellent communication among  all physicians involved in the patient’s care. With the advent of newer chemotherapeutics which can affect the bone strength, thyroid or pituitary function, we manage not only age related bone loss (osteoporosis) but also chemotherapy related bone and endocrine disorders. My certification in DEXA scans (International Society of Clinical Densitometry) allows to me analyze the DEXA (bone density scans) independently  Fox Chase Cancer Center provides a nurturing and responsive environment where patients are treated compassionately with therapy tailored to their specific endocrinological needs.
