Dr. Kutikov is a board certified, academic urologic surgical oncologist who treats tumors of the adrenal, kidney, prostate, bladder, ureter, testis, and other genitourinary organs using minimally invasive (robotic/laparoscopic; trans/retroperitoneal) and traditional surgical techniques.
Dr. Kutikov has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications. He has published chapters in leading urologic textbooks, including a chapter in Campbell-Walsh Urology and Gray’s Anatomy. His current research interests include objectification of surgical reporting, risk-stratification of surgical outcomes, and quantification of competing risks. He has held leadership positions both in the American College of Surgeons, American Urological Association, and the Society of Urologic Oncology.
Dr. Kutikov has significant interests in harnessing web and mobile technology to improve patient engagement and quality of care. Dr. Kutikov has been a part of several information technology start-ups and has served as the Associate Editor of Digital Media for European Urology, the field of Urology's leading academic publication.
Dr. Kutikov graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emory University with a B.S. in Chemistry where he attended on a full merit-based scholarship. During the junior year, he was selected as the sole student to represent Emory at Oxford University, England. Following undergraduate studies, he received an M.D. from Harvard Medical School’s Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program in 2003. He completed Urologic residency training at the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 and finished a 2-year Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at the Fox Chase Cancer Center where he stayed on as faculty. In 2017, Dr. Kutikov was named Chief of the Division of Urology and Urologic Oncology. In 2020, he was awarded the Roberta R. Scheller Endowed Chair of Urologic Oncology. In 2022, he successfully lead the reorganization of the Division into a Department and was appointed as the inaugural Department Chair.
