My philosophy is to approach every patient with the same careful consideration as I would want for my loved one. As a Radiation Oncologist, my role is two-fold. First, to effectively treat a patient’s tumor with millimeter precision, and minimal side effects. Here at Fox Chase, we are fortunate to have the most sophisticated technology to pinpoint the tumor while avoiding the health organs. Second, my role is to be my patient’s best advocate and educator. A cancer diagnosis is likely the most challenging time for any individual and their family. I spend significant time making sure that my patients understand all the treatment choices, and the goals of radiation as part of their overall treatment plan.
I have a significant background in radiation research, focused on clinical trials evaluating the role of new radiation technology and combining radiation with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. I have served on national and international committees, including the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) lung consensus panels. Exchanging information in the national setting allows me to bring the most up-to-date treatment to my patients here at Fox Chase.
I joined Fox Chase specifically because I believe that the best cancer care is achieved through multi-disciplinary collaboration. At Fox Chase, we ensure that every single patient is discussed with colleagues in medical oncology, surgical oncology, pathology, and radiology. There is one common goal that my colleagues and I share: to extend a patient’s life maximally, all while avoiding unnecessary toxicity.
