Transgenic Mouse Facility

Equipment/facility: Facility

    Research Resources Details

    Description

The Transgenic Mouse Facility (TMF) provides Cancer Center members the ability to introduce manipulated genes into the murine germline, and to delete or modify endogenous murine genes. Production of transgenic mice is an essential technology that enables investigators to answer questions about gene function that can only be addressed in a whole animal model system.

    Primary Objectives:

    1. Generation of transgenic mice by pronuclear injection of DNA constructs into mouse zygotes.
    2. Generation of knockout mice by injection of CRISPR reagents into mouse zygotes.
    3. Embryo cryopreservation and revival of mouse strains from frozen embryos.

This facility derives partial funding from the FCCC Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) from the National Cancer Institute.
