Description

The Cell Culture Facility provides reagents, equipment, technical expertise, consultation and training to support mammalian cell culture experiments at Fox Chase. Services include:

1. Basic cell culture support: cell banking, detection of mycoplasma contamination in cultured cells, cell line validation support, and maintenance of >150 common STR-authenticated cell lines

2. On-request establishment of 3D organoid cultures and primary cultures from human and animal tissue samples

3. Hybridoma production to generate monoclonal antibodies

4. Preparation of sterile growth media and reagents

Specialized equipment: electroporators, cell counter, xCELLigence, low oxygen incubation, Incucyte SX5

Dr. Tim Kwok is responsible for the day-to-day management of the CCF, consultation support, project management, direct supervision of the work of staff members, and cell culture services for organoid cultures.

This facility derives partial funding from the FCCC Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) from the National Cancer Institute.
